The objective of Islamic education is to foster the development of individuals who are able to make informed decisions and act in accordance with Islamic teachings. Through religious experience, students are expected to internalize a conception of religion that is alive, original, and functional; real, creative, spontaneous, and inherent. Each individual is expected to have an awareness of forming the main personality, where his mind and heart, spirit and body, morals and skills, and all his activities are based on divine morality. The necessity of internalizing Islamic teachings is underscored by two distinct perspectives on the formation of fundamental character traits, which are considered essential for humanity. First, Imam al-Ghazali posits that the capacity for inner regulation that aligns with the external (physical) conduct in nobility, wisdom, and virtue is capable of fostering the formation of a personality with commendable traits, attitudes, and behavior, both as an individual, social, and moral being. Second, Ibn Maskawaih asserts that the maintenance of bodily cleanliness and purity is of paramount importance, as everything that appears on the body is a reflection of the mind. It is recommended that one engage in the practice of subtle behavior, gentleness, politeness, and courtesy. This will undoubtedly result in the mind becoming soft, clean, and smooth.
