Focus and Scope

Mandarasa: Journal of Multidisciplinary Islamic Studies is an international, peer-reviewed, open-access journal that provides a platform for scholarly dialogue and critical inquiry into Islamic studies through multidisciplinary lenses. The journal seeks to explore and disseminate high-quality research that engages with the intellectual, cultural, and practical dimensions of Islam across various fields of knowledge.

The scope of Mandarasa encompasses a broad range of topics within the framework of Islamic studies, including but not limited to Islamic education, Islamic law and jurisprudence, Islamic economics and finance, socio-cultural transformations in Muslim societies, local wisdom rooted in Islamic traditions, and the development of moderate Islamic thought in response to contemporary global challenges. The journal encourages contributions that adopt interdisciplinary and comparative approaches, bridging traditional Islamic scholarship with modern academic disciplines such as sociology, anthropology, philosophy, political science, and area studies.

Particular emphasis is placed on studies that reflect the diversity of Muslim experiences in various geographical, cultural, and linguistic contexts. Mandarasa welcomes original research articles, conceptual papers, critical reviews, and case studies that offer fresh perspectives and contribute to the development of inclusive, pluralistic, and context-sensitive understandings of Islam in the modern world.
